A-B Roll 1.9.4 — Build 10016
A-B Roll 1.9.4 is a release-candidate update focused on operator workflow, playlist/rundown reliability, and faster live-show control.
This release makes the playlist sidebar much more useful during real production work: local rundowns now persist across launches, playlist items can be reordered, long filenames are easier to inspect, the sidebar can be resized, and common Player A / Player B actions can be triggered from the keyboard.
This update is recommended for all beta and release-candidate testers.

What's New
Persistent local playlist / rundown
Local media and image items in the playlist now persist across app launches.
Previously, quitting and reopening A-B Roll meant rebuilding the playlist from scratch. In 1.9.4, local media/image rows are restored automatically, in order, when the app reopens.
Player A and Player B still intentionally start empty on launch so operators can decide what to load.
Resizable playlist sidebar
The playlist sidebar is now resizable.
You can drag the divider to make the rundown wider or narrower depending on the show. The sidebar width is remembered across launches.
This is especially helpful for longer filenames and more complex run-of-show playlists.
Move Up / Move Down playlist ordering
Playlist rows can now be reordered from the right-click context menu.
- Move Up
- Move Down
The order is saved and restored on the next launch for local media/image rows.
Single-key operator controls
A-B Roll now includes fast keyboard controls for common Player A / Player B actions.
- Q → Load selected playlist item to Player A
- W → Load selected playlist item to Player B
- A → Play / Pause Player A
- S → Play / Pause Player B
- Z → Clear Player A
- X → Clear Player B
These shortcuts are designed as two simple operator lanes: Player A uses Q / A / Z, and Player B uses W / S / X.
Keyboard controls are active when the main A-B Roll window is focused and no text field or picker is active.
Operator Shortcuts in Settings
A new Operator Shortcuts section has been added to Settings / Preferences.
This gives testers a quick reference for the Q/W/A/S/Z/X controls without needing to remember them from release notes.
Filename hover tooltips
Long filenames in the playlist can now be inspected by hovering over the playlist row text.
This makes it easier to confirm the correct media item without widening the sidebar or guessing from a truncated name.
Fixes and Improvements
More reliable loaded-item tracking
Player A / Player B playlist badges now track items by stable identity instead of by playlist position.
This means badges stay attached to the correct item after removal or reordering.
Remove-from-playlist state sync fixes
Removing playlist items is now more reliable.
This fixes cases where removing an item could briefly make Player A / Player B badges appear on the wrong row or leave the current playlist selection out of sync.
Current playlist selection follows removals correctly
When removing an item above the selected row, the current playlist cursor now adjusts correctly.
This helps keep keyboard loading and playlist selection behaviour predictable.
Release telemetry dashboard repaired
The A-B Roll funnel telemetry endpoint used by the MixUp dashboard has been restored.
The dashboard now reports aggregate purchase/revenue counts again without exposing emails, license keys, Stripe IDs, media names, NDI source names, or other private data.
Known / Intentional Behaviour
Player A and Player B start empty on launch
Even when the playlist restores, Player A and Player B do not automatically reload previous media.
This is intentional for now. Operators should manually load the desired item into Player A or Player B.
NDI playlist rows do not restore yet
Local media and image rows persist across launches.
NDI source rows do not currently restore after quit/reopen because live NDI sources need a safer reconnect/disconnected-state design before they can be restored reliably.
Drag-to-reorder is not available yet
Playlist reordering is currently handled through right-click playlist row → Move Up / Move Down.
Drag-to-reorder remains planned for a future update.
Thumbnails are not included in this release
Playlist thumbnails are still under consideration, but were intentionally deferred to keep this release focused and stable.

Summary
A-B Roll 1.9.4 is one of the strongest operator-workflow updates so far.
It does not add new output formats or external control APIs. Instead, it focuses on making A-B Roll feel better during actual live-production use: faster control, more reliable rundown handling, clearer playlist state, and a sidebar that finally adapts to the operator.
